  Plaza de Armas is the center of the city. You will go there if you travel to Punta Arenas. The square is nice in every season, but nicer during winter with snow. You find a bronze statue of Ferdinand Magellan right on the center (made for celebrating the 400 years of the discovery of the Strait that bears his name) and is surrounded by nice buildings that show many different architectural style belonging to the different ethnic that arrived to populate the city in the wake of the twentieth century when Punta Arenas was known as the Pearl of the Strait.

  Cute little park with a large bronze statue to events at the South of Chile. Don't forget to rub the toes.

  A very nice plaza right in the heart of the city. It has a statue of Ferdinand Magellan .

  A lovely city square/park. Nice trees and interesting statue in the middle. We saw live music playing here, seemingly spontaneously. There are some kiosks on one side that sell local crafts.

  There is a turist information booth in the square. People say that if you want to go back to Punta Arenas you should kiss the toe of the indian statue on the middle. That's why it has a different colour than the rest of the body.
