  We had two cars, VW Transporter and Kia Grand Carnival. The cars were in a very good condition, oil was changed, tires quite new. We made 5000 km in 17 days crossing 7 times Chile-Argentinian border. Service was also great, in particular from Adolfo Gonzales. Why, here just two exampes: 1. We were suppose to land at 8.15 in Rio Gallegos where the cars were supposed to be delivered from Punta Arenas for acceptable fee. The plane actually landed 30 min earlier and the cars were already there. 2. It turned out that border crossing forms may not have sufficient number of places to stamp. I informed Adolfo about that and in 2 hours I had pdf of the forms which I printed in local hotel and the problem was solved. Last but not least, the price was very competitive as compared to big ones like Avis or Herz.

  I am so thankful to Aldofo and really enjoyed his service. I read so many bad stories about car rentals in Punta Arenas. So I deliberately chose another local car rentals 10 months ahead and paid half in 4 months ahead. And when I checked with them one month before leaving, they told me they forgot to reserve my auto shift car. I was so mad and worried. Then I found Southland. Aldofo was so nice and helpful over the phone with fluent English, which is really rare in Punta Arenas. He reserved the auto shift SUV, asking for the required documents for Argentina border crossing. Everything went on smoothly with him. We were happy to pick up the car in the airport. The SUV was in excellent condition. Full border crossing docs were ready in the car. Return was easy as well. I highly recommend Southland to anyone who need to rent a car in Punta Arenas.

  My Dad and I rented a 4wd from Adolfo. He was a great help planning our trip through Patagonia and up Route 40. He recommended places to visit, routes to take to keep it interesting (even providing maps for some of the routes) and even hotels in certain spots. He also helped during the journey with additional hotel recommendations when we didn't cover the planned distance to the next stop. Dad and I would fully recommend Southlands. Thanks Adolfo.   We rented an SUV to take up to Torres del Paine for the week in February, Adolfo who runs the business couldn't have been better. Very helpful and had good tips for driving up there. Our Nissan was a little beat, but once you see what the roads are like up there, it makes sense. I was glad to not have a shiny new vehicle up there. Adolfo met us at the airport with the car, even waited for us when we were dealing with our lost luggage. When we returned a week later he met us at the airport at the exact time we said, whole transaction was painless. In planning the trip and making the reservation, he was very responsive to email, great communication. I wish more people ran their business's like Adolfo does

  My friend Andrea and I rented a Nissan X-Trail from the very charming Adolfo at Southland Rent a Car. We hired it in Punta Arenas for six weeks and went all over the Patagonia in it. He delivered it direct to our hotel and at the end picked it up at the Punta Arenas bus station we were leaving from to save us carting our heavy luggage around the place. He gave us a very good rate (always worth haggling a bit!) . He is am extremely nice guy and very very helpful, always at the end of the phone if you need anything. You can hire cars through him in lots of Chilean and Argentinean cities. Will use his firm again when I return next year. Veronica
